About The CCPA School
What is The CCPA School like?
The CCPA School is a non-profit bilingual school in Asuncion, Paraguay, offering high quality education.
In the month of February 2015, THE CCPA SCHOOL, opens its doors to the community enabling the Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and Pre-school, supporting its quality management in qualified teachers committed to education whose principles are permanent reflection, critical thinking, creativity, and education in values. Since 2017 and at present it is located in Barrio Mburucuya.
With a strong focus on the integral development of students, the school promotes academic excellence, fluency in English and Spanish, and respect for cultural diversity.
What is the relationship between the CCPA and The CCPA School?
The institution is backed by the trajectory and historical tradition of the Paraguayan American Cultural Center - CCPA, which emphasizes biculturalism without detriment to national roots.
The principles that guide the institutional work are permanent reflection, critical thinking, promotion of creativity, as well as education in universal values.
Is it a Bilingual School?
The CCPA SCHOOL is a bilingual school, offering a dual language curriculum in English and Spanish. The objective is for students to develop a native proficiency in both languages.
To achieve this objective, the methodology includes: Classes taught in both languages and language immersion, students are exposed to the language on a constant basis, through activities such as games, music and art.
Modality and Schedules
What is the modality and class schedules?
The modality is double shift.
The schedules by level are specified below
- Kínder 4: 7:50 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
- Kinder 5: 7:50 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Basic School Education, 1st Cycle
- Grade 1, Grade 2 and Grade 3: 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Basic School Education, 2nd Cycle
- Grade 4, Grade 5 and Grade 6: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Basic School Education, 3rd Cycle
- Grade 7, Grade 8 and Grade 9: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Secondary Education, Baccalaureate
- Plurilingual Scientific Baccalaureate with emphasis on Basic Sciences and their Technologies: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
What is the school calendar used?
It is governed by the annual calendar issued by the MEC. The school calendar is the period where all pedagogical actions are carried out. It includes the period of preparation, execution and evaluation of the pedagogical action.
The school calendar begins in February and ends in November of the same year. It is composed of 2 stages. The first stage begins in February and ends in June. The second stage begins in July and ends in November. Winter vacation is scheduled in July.

What are the spaces available at the College?

What are the classrooms like?
Las aulas en The CCPA School son tecnificadas. Están equipadas con televisores/proyectores, equipos de audio, notebook para el docente y conexión a Internet.
They also have lockers to store materials. The furniture and the environment stimulate learning.
How does the Roosevelt Library and Computing work?
The Library is open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for students to use during class hours or for independent study.
The loan period for books is ten days, renewable as long as the material has not been previously reserved by another person.
Library materials are also available for School Parents to borrow after school hours. The library also has computers available with internet connection and databases of book resources exclusively for students of the institution.
How is the Canteen and Dining Room Service?
A meal service with a healthy menu is provided through an outsourced service.
Parents have the option of using the lunch service provided by the school, or bringing lunch from home.
Once the school year begins, the canteen and dining room schedule will be posted, as well as the monthly lunch menu for those who choose to use this service.
Lunch boxes, lunch boxes and backpacks must be properly identified with the following information: name and surname of the student and the grade he/she attends.
Library materials are also available for School Parents to borrow after school hours. The library also has computers available with internet connection and databases of book resources exclusively for students of the institution.
Does the College have an Infirmary?
THE CCPA SCHOOL has medical and nursing coverage that provides services during school hours, from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm.
The nursing staff is the only one authorized to administer medications; prior consultation and authorization of the parents.
Por lo tanto, los padres deberán entregar cualquier medicamento que deba ser administrado a sus hijos durante el día escolar a la Enfermería, con las instrucciones correspondientes. La enfermera podrá administrar los medicamentos a los estudiantes sólo cuando éstos estén acompañados por un permiso escrito de los padres, o cuando la autorización de los padres haya sido recibida a través de una comunicación telefónica válida.
The school currently has the services of EPEM.
How secure is the school?
THE CCPA SCHOOL cuenta con personal de portería y guardias externos de 7:00 a.m. a 17:00 para la seguridad de los alumnos, el personal y la propiedad de la institución.
In addition to having security cameras in the common areas and security guards.
Does the school have school transportation?
The school does not have a private school transportation service.
Uniforms and Materials
Do students wear uniforms?
Students wear uniforms, which are purchased from the school.
Initial Level:
The complete daily school uniform for the initial level is as follows:
- White T-shirt with school insignia.
- Blue shorts
- Blue apron
- White jackets
- White stockings
The complete winter daily uniform for the initial level is as follows:
- White T-shirt with school insignia.
- Blue sweatpants.
- Blue coverall (kangaroo)
- Blue apron
- White stockings
- White jackets.
- Blue and red jacket with school insignia (optional).
- Change of clothes for the initial level.
The complete school dress uniform for Kinder 5 is as follows:
- White polo shirt with the school insignia, skirt, blue socks and black tights in the case of girls.
- T-shirt with polo neck with school insignia, blue pants, blue socks and black moccasins in the case of boys.
The Physical Education uniform is as follows:
- Physical education T-shirt
- Blue shorts
- White jackets

Basic and Middle School Education
The complete daily school uniform for Basic School is as follows:
- White polo shirt with the school insignia, skirt, blue socks and black tights in the case of girls.

What books and materials are used?
Parents will receive the list of supplies and books the student will need for the school year.
Institutional activities
What are the Ceremonies and School Parties?
Ceremonies and school holidays are carried out according to the official calendar in force of the Ministry of Education and Science.
The national symbols shall be respected and presented in all official ceremonies. The Paraguayan and American flags shall be hoisted or lowered in accordance with official regulations.
Admissions and Enrollment
What is the enrollment process?
In order for the student to be enrolled, parents or legal guardians are requested to comply with the following procedure:
- Submit all the documentation described below:
- Original birth certificate.
- Two copies of identity documents (students and parents).
- Four passport photos of the student.
- Copy of the previous year's passbook (if applicable). Certificate of Studies (if applicable).
- Socio-affective report.
- Registration form (completed and signed by parents).
- Complete medical record (according to school requirements).
- Vaccination booklet.
- At the time of enrollment, the parents or legal representative of the student shall inform whether or not they authorize the communication of their personal address to the grade delegates or to the parents' association.
- Payment of tuition and other educational costs established by the school for the corresponding school year.
- Delivery of the enrollment contract and promissory note signed by the financial officer.
- Signature of the enrollment form by the Father, Mother or Legal Representative on the day of enrollment.
